Alumni Park: Southwestern Bell has donated 4+ acres of land at Hildebrand and the San Antonio River to the university. The land used to be part of the old Urrutia estate and is directly across the street from the Frank Nursing Building. A wonderful park for the campus; it has been named Alumni Park.

Alumni Search: Valerie Fitch is looking for graduates of St. Mary's School on the Riverwalk in San Antonio and also Our Lady of Peace Catholic School [formerly Westside Catholic and Immaculate Conception]. Please contact Valerie at 210-930-6978.

Keeping Up: Check the Incarnate Word website regularly. There is a new Alumni Calendar and many new folks on the Alumni Networking Network. Also, all of the details on Homecoming and the annual Scholarship Sweepstakes are available on the website or by contacting or calling 1-800-584-5322. And if you have an email address send it to the alumni office as many alumni mailings are now done by email to save on paper and postage.

Poster Presentations: Alumni were well represented in April, 2000 in the poster presentations prior to the Sister Charles Marie Frank Lecture. Represented were:
Sister Michele O'Brien, BS '67; Maricela C. Aguilar, BSN '75, MSN '94; Maureen Reilly, BSN '86, MSN '89; Dr. Barbara Aranda-Naranjo, MSN '88; Jose M. Hernandez, MSN '92; Caterina E. M. Lasome, MSN/MBS '93; Paula Gray, MSN '95; Sherry Compton-Johnston, MSN '97; Linda C. Lewis, MSN '98 and Ramona Parker, MSN '98.

Credit Card $: Thanks to all who regularly use their MBNA UIW affinity credit card. As you know, UIW receives a percentage quarterly on all credit card use and it does not cost the alumnus/a or the university anything extra. We now receive an annual revenue of $3,000 from MBNA which goes directly to the Faculty Development Endowment to continue to improve the quality of classroom teaching. And, we can use that revenue for matching Federal dollars. A win-win all the way.

International Hosts: If you live in or near San Antonio, the University needs host families for our international students from various parts of the world. Some students are here for just a few weeks on an internship, others for a full semester or longer. If you can help by hosting an international student in your home, please contact the Alumni Office.
