On Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, the UIW Synchronized Swim team will host the UIW Invitational. UIW’s three-time South Regional Champion team includes four Athletic All-American swimmers, Camille Guerre, Beatriz Regly, Sarah Rodriguez and Natalia Vega, who competed with Team USA in Tokyo, Japan as they prepared for the 2020 Olympic Games and in Budapest, Hungary in the FINA World Championships.

Swimmers from our own and other universities make a splash and showcase their underwater moves at the Ann Barshop Natatorium. Entrance is free and bleacher seating will be available. The excitement begins at noon.

In addition to the exciting Spring 2018 event, the UIW Synchronized Swim team has had a very busy Fall 2017. On October 21 and 22, the team presented The Wizard of Oz: A Synchronized Swimming Spectacular. Complete with costumes and music, the team reenacted the film classic in the water. Members of the team were decked out as the Wicked Witch, Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Wizard herself. This year’s take on the annual water show was more spectacular and fun than ever. Food trucks welcomed spectators an hour prior to show time. Once inside, guests were invited to take part in the silent auction, which included items such as Kendra Scott Jewelry and a signed Tim Duncan Spurs photo.

Last Spring, the team finished their season at the U.S. Collegiate Championships in Ohio. The Cardinals finished fourth overall after stunning solor, duet and trio routines from team members.
