UIW and its European partner, CEPA Europe, are teaming up on an additional study abroad center in Europe. The European Study Center (ESC) in Strasbourg, France, is currently scheduled to open its doors for UIW students in Fall 2017. The center will be housed at the Château de Pourtalès, a 250-year-old castle nestled in a beautiful park near the Strasbourg city center. The ESC will offer students the opportunity to take a variety of courses that will count towards their selected degree plan. It will also offer students the unique opportunity of living in a city that is culturally rich and politically important, as the European Parliament and the Council of Europe are located in Strasbourg. At present, the International Affairs Department, in collaboration with UIW’s Provost Dr. Kathi Light and several academic deans, are finalizing which courses will be offered at the center that will capitalize on the inherent resources of Strasbourg.

The International Affairs Office will be hosting several information sessions to the UIW community throughout the Spring 2017 semester, which will provide further details and offer Q & A opportunities regarding the European Study Center Strasbourg. Information sessions are open to the entire UIW community. It joins ESC Heidelberg as UIW’s second academic site in Europe. For more info, visit www.uiw.edu/studyabroad/
