UIW senior forward Kyle Hittle has been named the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Year; he is the first UIW men’s basketball player and UIW student-athlete in any sport to receive the distinction. The award is presented to the student-athlete who achieves excellence in both academics and athletics. The Southland Conference awards committee, consisting of one administrator from each of the 13 member schools, vote for the student-athlete of the year.
